When you decide to step forward for election, many (and various) engaged individuals and groups start to seek out your opinions and perspectives on topics of interest to them -- everything from urban growth/densification, to urban agriculture, to P3s,
to downtown revitalization, to homelessness issues, to secondary education -- they simply want to "get to know you," ask you some tough questions, see what you really stand for, if you're prepared to put your money where your mouth is.
I applaud each and every group or individual who takes it upon themselves to be so engaged (we need more of this!).
Someone asked me about democracy, voter engagement, and representative government.
I invite you to read my responses to their survey. This is an issue very near-and-dear to my heart.
